First time back on the beach. Post the initial ‘too-late lockdown’, after ‘too early lockdown lift’ and into lockdown again and before the seemingly incomprehensible tiers apply. Yesterday afternoon was pleasantly Covid and holiday-maker free.
It was March 2020 the last time we set foot on here. Seems an age ago now but the pleasure of being soothed clean by the sounds and senses again felt familiar and welcome. Salty taste in the air, the rumbles, sucking and slamming of the waves. Even though it was instantly bitterly cold as soon as the sun was obscured.
I seem to favour big skies. It’s a scale thing I think. Us so tiny, and the awesome process and energy of the planet going on regardless. Albeit with the extra shit we’ve put in it.

I wish I could visit

Thanks David, it’s only 4 miles down the road yet so far away during all this.
