Anarchic Teasel

There is something somehow more pleasing to my eye about things that are not ‘perfect’. It must be that my brain catalogue image of an object, in the mental encyclopaedia somewhere, is ringing a ‘not matching the pattern’ alert that pleases me.
This teasel has attracted me for it’s leaf that had defiantly gone it’s own way, rather than be obediently symmetrical.

  1. We call these teasels round our way, don’t know if that’s a local thing. And every Christmas there’s a craft fair somewhere selling them dressed up in hand knitted hats and cardigans in the guise of a cute family of hedgehogs.

Anyway, they make fantastic photography subjects!

And your title is an excellent name for a band who want to sound slightly dangerous and rebellious but without offending anyone, least of all their mums…

    1. Yeah, it’s a thistly teasely thing… at least one of them. I don’t know, I just take photos. When writing I started with the ‘t’ and ‘histle’ seemed to automatically come after it. 😉

  2. Oh, honestly I love this. And am delighted it’s on redbubble – I have many folks who will love this as a holiday greeting card — seriously! All my people are witches, so this is right up their alley.
